Cobalt

Cobalt is a solid and glossy silver-gray metal.
It is important as an alloy and is used as a magnetic material such as high-speed steel and permanent magnet, heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant steel. As non-ferrous alloys, excellent in oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and mechanical properties at high temperatures can be obtained. Cobalt is used as an oxidation catalyst in chemical reaction and is used in lithium batteries and for the manufacture of blue pigments such as glass and ceramics, and the isotope of Cobalt 60.
